The entire library of OSN+ content will be available to 1001's premium subscribers from February 23, 2024 as part of their subscription package.
OSN+ has entered into a strategic partnership with 1001, a major Iraqi streaming platform that launched in the country in March 2023. The collaboration will enable 1001 to offer OSN+ as part of its platform, offering more diverse content to its growing user base of approximately two million users.
Speaking exclusively to BroadcastPro ME, 1001 clarified that the platform will introduce a single, all-inclusive subscription model in Iraq from February 23, 2024, that offers its viewers an ad-free premium streaming experience at a monthly fee of 6500 IQD (USD 5). All 1001 subscribers will also have access to an OSN subscription, which includes a rich array of exclusive movies, series, and documentaries, including the House of Dragons and Halo amongst thousands of hours of entertainment. Subscribers merely have to undertake a few additional steps within the 1001 platform to activate their OSN+ app.
OSN+’s extensive collection, featuring the latest blockbuster movies, critically acclaimed series, and exclusive documentaries, will be seamlessly integrated into 1001’s subscription, which includes 3,000 hours of Iraqi content and numerous international titles. By partnering with OSN+ and providing a high-quality alternative, 1001, which claims to be the largest legal streaming platform in Iraq with two million unique users, hopes to combat piracy.
Speaking about the partnership, William Page, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer and Legal Counsel at 1001 said: “We’re excited to partner with OSN; this is a significant step in enhancing our streaming platform. Discovery of content within a single ecosystem is an important way of enhancing the user experience and encouraging them to move away from the pirated platforms that have become mainstream in Iraq in recent years. With this deal, users will be able to search both the 1001 and OSN+ libraries within their existing 1001 experience, and once they find a movie or show they like, they can proceed to enjoy it either directly within 1001 or with minimal friction on OSN+.”
Rory Buckley, VP of Linear Content Strategy & Telco Distribution at OSN, added: “OSN has always been committed to bringing the best in premium entertainment to the region, and with our partnership with 1001, we now expand our reach further to provide the Iraqi market with a credible option to enjoy an extensive, and exclusive, library of must-see content.”
