OSN has launched new subscription prices and packs as part of #newOSN.
OSNs new CEO Martin Stewart has announced that the entertainment networks basic package is now available at USD 20.
The new pricing marks a significant deviation from the entertainment networks previous pricing strategy and brings it head to head with new rival, beIN Media Group.
New subscribers must first invest in OSN’s Get Started pack of 32 channels, which includes a mix of Arab and Western entertainment for families. Subscribers interested in sports, movies or other entertainment packages can then purchase additional bundles. The price range for the OSN bouquet now ranges from $20-$89.
With the new pricing and package strategy, Stewart hopes to attract a larger number of subscribers across the region and make entertainment more affordable.
Television viewing habits have changed and with the new packs, customers can customise what they want to watch, paying only for their packages of choice. This is just the first step in an exciting journey ahead with a number of further initiatives this year as new OSN, commented Stewart.
Stewart added that this announcement is one of many initiatives aimed at attracting more subscribers to OSN. In summer, the network intends to announce significant additions to its OTT platforms and a 4K rollout is expected later this year.
OSN has secured long-term exclusive deals with all the major international studios such as Disney, HBO, NBC Universal, Fox, Paramount, MGM and Sony. OSN has the deal for Warner Brothers until the end of 2018.
beIN had previously announced that it has secured the broadcast rights from Warner Bros for first-run programming from Jan 1, 2019 onwards.
