Lack of commercial viability has been cited as the main reason for shutting down the channel.
Abu Dhabi-based free-to-air channel, Quest Arabiya, has announced on Twitter that it will go off air effective May 1, 2019. Inside sources have cited the lack of commercial viability as the key reason for shutting down the channel.
The channel presently employs more than 20 staff, some of who have found roles with Image Nation.
The Arabic-language channel, a joint venture between Quest TVs global owner Discovery Networks and Abu Dhabi-based Channel Ventures FZ LLC, was well known for its adventure shows and had recently concluded production for a fishing adventure show.
