The Qvest Group will extend TeraVolt's products and services through its global network of locations.
Qvest Group has announced its acquisition of TeraVolt, a solutions provider specialising in digital media products and consulting services. Based in Hamburg, Germany, TeraVolt boasts a team of approximately 50 experts skilled in product development, strategy, and technology, with a strong focus on creating innovative TV experiences and digital products in collaboration with global clients. The company is renowned for its expertise in producing end-to-end OTT (Over-the-Top) solutions, spanning from concept inception to operational deployment.
TeraVolt has established a significant presence in the realm of big-screen applications, connected TV, and personalised live sports broadcasting. The company offers media and entertainment firms, particularly those in the sports industry, a wide range of services, including custom development, consulting, project support, testing, operations, and metadata optimisation.
TeraVolt’s inclusion in the Qvest Group enhances the group’s ability to deliver tailored solutions for TV, streaming platforms, and content providers. TeraVolt’s “TV mobile FIRST” concept offers diverse solutions aimed at increasing viewer loyalty on different platforms, leveraging social media benchmarks. Additionally, TeraVolt has a longstanding partnership with broadcasters and digital platforms such as ZDF, RTL, Deutsche Telekom (Magenta Sport), and Vodafone in the domains of HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV) and CTV (Connected TV) apps. These apps enable the creation of personalised, interactive TV experiences that meet the expectations of today’s more demanding audience.
Commenting on the deal, Tobias Künkel, CEO of TeraVolt, said: “We are proud that TeraVolt has developed into a leading OTT solution provider for the TV industry. Our expertise perfectly complements the extensive competencies of the Qvest Group. As an integral part of Qvest, we are now jointly able to provide even more comprehensive support to customers worldwide to make the most of the remarkable opportunities of digital transformation.”
The addition of TeraVolt’s TVXRAY, a standalone product, to Qvest’s portfolio, enhances the group’s ability to cater to customers worldwide. TVXRAY, a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution, is optimised for the digitally-focused TV landscape, spanning various end devices and playout options. TeraVolt’s SmartPages, an all-in-one solution for creating, producing, and playout of interactive companion formats for TV shows, further enriches Qvest’s offerings.
Peter Nöthen, CEO of Qvest Group, added: “In recent years, the TeraVolt team has established itself as specialists for OTT and has made a lasting impression on numerous customers from the sports as well as media and entertainment sector with products such as TVXRAY. This range of services and the key expertise in OTT mean a targeted reinforcement for our portfolio and make TeraVolt the ‘perfect fit’ for Qvest.”
TeraVolt’s existing team, including Tobias Künkel (CEO), Oliver Koch (CCO), Tobias Fröhlich (CPO), and Volker Harbs (CTO), will continue to lead the company’s development and global expansion, in collaboration with Qvest’s management. The Qvest Group will extend TeraVolt’s products and services through its global network of locations.
