IBC has announced its visitor numbers for this years show which add up to 50,462. The figure marks a 4% increase in attendance when compared to IBC2010, which had a total attendance of 48,521.
There were attendees from more than 140 countries for IBC. The exhibition had more than 1,300 suppliers of electronic media technology.
A statement on the website stated that IBC is delighted with this years strong visitor numbers which are a very clear indication of the resilience and optimism of the broadcast industry despite the current economic climate.
IBC chief executive officer Michael Crimp was pleased with the turnout, he stated: I would like to thank everyone for supporting IBC and contributing to another outstanding event. I look forward to seeing you all back at IBC in Amsterdam next year, 6-11 September 2012.
Highlights at IBC2011 included the participation of James Cameron who headlined the event and delivered a conference session with business partner Vince Pace. Facebooks Joanna Shields was also among the prominent figures at IBC and she delivered the keynote speech.
