The Red Sea Film Foundation's participation in the 10th edition of the Saudi Film Festival is aimed at connecting with Saudi talent.
The Red Sea Film Foundation (RSFF) has announced its participation in the ongoing 10th edition of the Saudi Film Festival. The festival will run until May 9, 2024, at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) in Dhahran.
Aligning with its mission to foster collaboration with esteemed festivals both locally and internationally, RSFF’s involvement underscores its dedication to propelling Saudi cinema to greater heights. As part of its engagement, the foundation has set up a dedicated booth within the production market and is set to showcase the film Fever Dreams, a recipient of support from the Red Sea Fund, in the festival’s official competition lineup. Additionally, RSFF is sponsoring a financial grant for the best short Saudi film screenplay, further cementing its commitment to nurturing indigenous talent.
The Saudi Film Festival, organised by the Saudi Film Association in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz World Cultural Association (Ithra), stands as a pivotal event that celebrates and elevates the Saudi film landscape. Through film competitions, script development initiatives, and a diverse array of cultural programs and workshops, the festival serves as a dynamic platform for Saudi filmmakers from every corner of the kingdom.
RSFF’s active participation in the festival underscores its aim to forge connections with local talent. Representatives from various RSFF programmes, including the Red Sea IFF programming team, Red Sea Souk, Red Sea Labs, and the Red Sea Fund, are on hand to engage with aspiring filmmakers and industry professionals alike.
Notably, festival attendees have the opportunity to experience Fever Dreams, the latest cinematic offering from the Godus Brothers, supported by the Red Sea Fund. Featuring Suhaib Godus, rising star Najm, Nour Al-Khadra, Fatima Al-Banawi, Hakeem Jomah, and other Saudi talents, the film embarks on a comedic adventure following the exploits of a retired football star and his daughter as they navigate the quest for social media stardom.
