The deadline for submissions is August 21, 2024.
The Red Sea Film Festival Foundation has announced the opening of the fourth cycle of the Red Sea Fund on August 6.
The Fund is now accepting submissions from directors of Arab nationality or origin and African nationality. Filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world and Africa are encouraged to submit their post-production-ready film projects by August 21.
This cycle aims to support a new generation of filmmakers and aid established auteurs in bringing their work from script to screen.
Funding is available for feature-length (60 minutes or more) fiction, documentary or animation projects that are already at the rough cut stage and require assistance to complete, distribute and exhibit. For Saudi projects, short films, documentaries or animations under 59 minutes are eligible for submission, as well as scripted episodic series with episodes ranging from 25 to 59 minutes.
Submissions must be in English, except for scripts for Saudi projects, which can be in Arabic. Required documents include a logline, synopsis, film’s chain of titles, English script for non-documentary projects, writer’s treatment for feature documentaries and episodic documentaries, English script and writer’s treatment for fiction and animation, pilot episode script and treatment in English for fiction episodic, director’s statement/vision and director’s motivation video with English subtitles.
