In 2025, the programme will include five workshops – the first one exclusively addressed to selected Saudi teams, and the other four to all the selected projects.
Red Sea Labs, an initiative of the Red Sea Film Foundation, has announced the lineup of projects for the sixth edition of its Lodge programme. Designed to support emerging filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia and Africa, the initiative is held in collaboration with TorinoFilmLab.
Following a successful fifth edition, The Lodge returns in 2025 as an intensive annual programme dedicated to nurturing first- and second-time filmmakers, while also welcoming more experienced directors with bold new ideas. The programme will feature five workshops—one dedicated exclusively to Saudi teams, while the remaining four will be open to all selected projects.
Throughout the year-long development process, participants will refine their projects and prepare to present them at the Red Sea International Film Festival’s project market, where they will compete for the Lodge Production Grant Awards. Additional funding opportunities will also be available.
By the end of the programme, selected teams will have a fully developed project, including essential elements such as a logline, synopsis, treatment, screenplay, budget and financing strategy. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of project development and acquire the necessary tools to bring their films to life while strengthening their ability to navigate the international film market.
A maximum of 12 teams will be chosen from across Saudi Arabia, the Arab world, Asia and Africa.
