Dubai Studio City has announced it will host Emirati director Mohammed Saeed Harib on its latest Reel Talks session on Instagram.
The session will take place virtually on August 15 at 9 pm. Harib will shed light on the evolution of the UAE film industry and share tips with rising talent from his personal experience.
Harib has been recognised as one of the world’s most influential Arabs. Best known for the animated TV series Freej, Harib is the Chairman of Lammtara Art Production and creator of stage shows, feature films and
gaming apps.
Harib was the director of the UAE’s official 42nd National Day ceremony in Burj Park in 2013, and he is currently directing his first live-action feature film with Abu Dhabi’s Image Nation.
Harib created and directed an Emirati cartoon series and a gaming app called Mandoos, which teaches children about UAE heritage and culture. He also produced 28 2D animated stories to feature in the Arabic speaking version of the TV series for kids, Sesame Street.
In 2007, Harib received the Emerging UAE Talent Award at the Dubai International Film Festival. He also received the title of the Young CEO of the Year in 2008 from CEO Middle East magazine.
Reel Talks is a digital series, held in collaboration with in5 Media, in partnership with the National Media Council, featuring leading regional industry figures. Previously, Reel Talks hosted a number of Emirati filmmakers including Amal Al-Agroobi and Mustafa Abbas.
