Rohde & Schwarz has opened an office in Saudi Arabia to better serve its customers in the Kingdom, the companys Middle East CEO Franz Schaeffler told BroadcastPro ME. Schaeffler said that team expansion is planned with some seven people already occupying the office in Saudi Arabia. Clients in the Kingdom include the Department of Education and MOCI.
Schaeffler took over the Middle East position in January 2012 although he has been with the company since 1981.
R&S is a supplier of excellent equipment but our focus is on the solution and that comes with people and the quality of service provided. This is our focus sales and post-sales services.
He added that the key operational areas for the company are Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
There is a demand for broadcast infrastructure and telecoms solutions in this region. With the move to digitisation at different stages in the region, we want to be a part of it and maintain the momentum it has built up. We need good people that must be motivated to deliver a quality product. This is my focus to find the right team.
R&S presently has a local office in Dubai with 40 people, a team of 30 in Abu Dhabi and a small setup in Saudi Arabia.
