MAD Solutions handles distribution in the Arab world, while Wild Bunch International handles worldwide sales.
Tetouan International Mediterranean Film Festival 2023, which will run from March 3 to 10, has selected French-Moroccan director Roschdy Zem’s Our Ties as the closing film.
Previously, the film held its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival — where it competed for the Golden Lion Grand Prix — and its Arab World premiere in the 44th Cairo International Film festival’s International Panorama Section, and was commercially released in French theatres in November 2022.
Our Ties follows Moussa, who has always been kind, selfless, and there for his family; Unlike his brother Ryad, a high-profile TV presenter who is widely criticized for his egocentricity by those around him, with his only defender being Moussa, who admires him greatly.
When an accident befalls Moussa, causing him serious brain damage, he now speaks without any filter, telling the brutal truth to friends and family alike, leading all to resent him, except Ryad.
As part of the film’s consecutive series of victories, Our Ties was featured in several prestigious worldwide festivals, including the Tromsø, La Roche-sur-Yon, Arras, and the Cinémed international film festivals.
Our Ties — which was co-written by Maïwenn— stars Sami Bouajila, Roschdy Zem, Meriem Serbah, Maïwenn, and Rachid Bouchareb. Additionally, Julien Poupard served as its DOP, and it was edited by Pierre Deschamps.
The film was produced by Laziz Belkaï, with Wild Bunch International managing worldwide sales and MAD Solutions handling distribution in the Arab world.
