The analysis was presented by Tassabih Hassan, Head of Insights, mena.tv, last month at CABSAT.
Roya TV ranked fourth in terms of the highest viewership ratings during Ramadan 2022 amongst eLife subscribers from the Levant residing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a report from mena.tv.
The results were based on Evision’s Television Audience Measurement system (TAM), which monitors over 1.1m TV households across the UAE – more than half the domestic TV viewing population. The results of the Ramadan analysis, which included the five most-watched Arabic channels in the UAE by demographic group, were announced at CABSAT.
The analysis was presented by Tassabih Hassan, Head of Insights at mena.tv, and showed that MBC 1 channel topped the list of rankings amongst Levantine households in the Holy Month, followed by Abu Dhabi TV, while MTV Lebanon came in third place, and Roya TV came in fourth, followed by ‘Sharjah TV,’ which came in fifth place.
The analysis added that viewership rates for Arab channels increased by 80% in the first week of Ramadan 2022 compared with the week preceding Ramadan 2022, and that during the crucial month of Ramadan, Levant audiences represent 22% of the viewing hours of all Arabic TV channels.
Roya TV continues to provide unique and diverse content after its success over the past 11 years and recently announced plans to explore co-production opportunities for its Arabic drama series.
