Jordanian satellite TV channel Roya TV has ordered a new sitcom titled My Sister & Her Kids, set to be filmed at the cutting-edge Olivewood Film Studios, a new purpose-built complex in the Kingdom.
The confirmed cast for the sitcom includes Omar Zorba, Hind Hamed, and Shaker Jaber.
The filming for My Sister & Her Kids is currently underway at Olivewood Film Studios in Amman, marking a milestone as the first fully serviced studio facility in Jordan, according to the operators. This collaboration between Roya TV and Olivewood Studios signifies a commitment to fostering high-quality content creation within the region, and the sitcom is expected to be a noteworthy addition to Jordan’s entertainment landscape.
Produced by Sari Saad Silawi, the comedy series revolves around the carefree character Sami, a middle-aged man who continues to reside with his parents while engaging in the production of a podcast series.
The Olivewood Film Studios is a collaborative venture between Roya TV, owned by the Sayegh Group, and Olivewood Studios.
The state-of-the-art facility spans two soundstages, each covering 16,145 sqft, complemented by a 10,764 sqft mill. Furthermore, the complex boasts a sprawling levelled backlot covering 731,946 sqft, a basecamp area spanning 43,056 sqft, an on-site canteen, parking facilities for 95 cars, and a dedicated space for technical vehicles. Conveniently located a 15-minute drive from Amman, the capital city, Olivewood Film Studios is set to elevate the standards of content production in Jordan and contribute to the flourishing entertainment industry.
