The deadline to apply for the Jordan Film Fund is until May 17, 2023.
Royal Film Commission – Jordan has increased the overall Jordan Film Fund’s (JFF) budget for the eighth cycle of 2023 to $650,000 (JOD 450,000). The budget increase will offer Jordanian and Arab directors more funding and shooting flexibility, especially for the feature narrative projects.
The Jordan Film Fund (JFF) supports the development, production, and post-production of cinematic feature-length narrative and documentary projects; the production of short narrative, documentary, and experimental including animated projects; the marketing and distribution of Jordanian feature-length narrative and documentary further to the development of TV Series.
Directors working on feature narrative films that are co-produced within Jordan and employ Jordanian cast and crew are eligible to apply for the JFF’s support of up to $100,000, regardless of the shooting locations.
As for Jordanian feature narrative projects, they are offered a higher production amount of up to $140,000, double that of the previous cycle. In addition, Jordanian projects have more flexibility in terms of shooting locations, provided they are working with Jordanian cast and crew.
A new category was established to support the marketing and distribution of Jordanian feature narrative and documentary projects with a value of $14,000.
Finally, the fund allocated for Jordanian shorts has also increased up to $30,000 – as compared to $14,000 in past years.
