The new structure is designed to keep pace with the massive growth experienced by digital activities including Shahid VIP and in line with the active corporate development pipeline.
Sam Barnett is back at MBC Group as CEO, where he spent more than seventeen years, before announcing his exit as Group CEO in December 2019. He will succeed Marc Antoine d’Halluin, who will now stay on as Advisor to the Board. Majid Al Ibrahim has also been announced as a Board Representative to assess, oversee and facilitate the implementation of new initiatives and mandates. These key decisions were made by the Board of Directors under the Chairmanship of Waleed Al Ibrahim.
The decisions were made to keep pace with the acceleration of opportunities in the digital media and OTT markets and to deliver on the Saudi Kingdom’s Vision 2030 media agenda.
In this context, MBC Group Chairman Waleed Al Ibrahim wished Majid Al Ibrahim, Marc Antoine d’Halluin and Sam Barnett, the best of success in their endeavours and thanked them for their continuous dedication to making MBC Group a global media leader which has successfully pivoted towards the OTT world.
