Arabsat and Aldoria, a space situational awareness company, have announced a significant collaboration at LEAP 2024, the prominent tech event held in Saudi Arabia. The partnership was solidified through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at bolstering space safety and security measures.
This landmark agreement stems from the fruitful outcomes of the first Space Debris Conference in Saudi Arabia, held in Riyadh on February 11-12 and organised by the Saudi Space Agency. Represented by its Sector Head of Space Services, Eng. Kamal Alharbi, the agency is spearheading efforts to foster the development of the space economy in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, while also nurturing capacity and expertise in space situational awareness.
Arabsat, renowned as a global leader in satellite operations and the foremost provider of satellite services in the Arab world, offers a comprehensive suite of solutions ranging from full spectrum TV and radio broadcasting to telecommunications, broadband, advanced data transmission networks, and a variety of satellite ecosystem services. Their seamless integration of multi-channel communication services caters to the needs of government and commercial entities across the MENA region.
The MoU between Arabsat and Aldoria lays the groundwork for expanded collaboration on strategic initiatives and potential ventures. Aldoria will provide its advanced space solutions to Arabsat and its member countries, augmenting their capabilities in safeguarding space assets. Additionally, plans are underway for the establishment of one of Aldoria’s sensor systems in an Arabsat member country, further fortifying space security measures in the region.
