The satellites have software-driven integrated payload array technology that allow SES to dynamically allocate bandwidth and power to specific regions or customers as needed.
Boeing has delivered two more O3b mPower satellites to SES ahead of their planned launch in December. Part of the Medium-Earth Orbit (MEO) constellation which currently has six satellites in orbit, these are the seventh and eighth satellites. The constellation entered service in April of this year, and is targeted to serve customers in government, enterprise, and cloud markets.
Weve worked closely with SES from the start of this program, and we moved with pace to manufacture the latest pair of satellites, said Michelle Parker, vice president Boeing Space Mission Systems. We look forward to seeing the satellites enter service and continue to impress SES users.

These two satellites include upgrades compared to the first six satellites, four of which experienced issues with their power modules. SES and Boeing reached a deal last year after the issues to upgrade satellites seven through 11 and add an additional two more satellites to the constellation.
Boeing said it continues production, integration, and testing of the remaining O3b mPOWER satellites. The manufacturer plans to deliver three more in the first half of 2025.
