Gilat Satellite Networks has announced that their next-generation SkyEdge IV Aquarius modem now supports SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier) mode.
The SkyEdge IV Aquarius Pro modem is designed to deliver ultra-high performance over next-generation VHTS GEO (Very High Throughput Satellite Geostationary) and NGSO (Non-Geostationary Satellite Orbit) constellations. It is a solution for ultra-high throughput trunks, supporting speeds of up to 750Mbps per direction. This makes it suitable for a wide range of fixed and mobility applications, including broadband, 4G and 5G backhauling, commercial maritime and cruise ships and corporate enterprise services.
As part of the SkyEdge IV Network, the Aquarius Pro modems SCPC mode is engineered to provide uninterrupted service, supporting next-generation software-defined satellites. It allows seamless operation with “make before break” handovers for NGSO satellites and enables switching between GEO and NGSO or between different GEO satellites.
