Hermes Datacomms Middle East, a specialist providing Wide Area Network communications to the upstream oil and gas industry has successfully registered with the Kurdistan Regional Governments Ministry of Natural Resources, allowing them to provide ICT solutions to oil and gas companies in Kurdistan.
This move forms part of Hermes Datacomms Middle East operations vast expansion plans in the region and is in answer to the prominent growth set to take place. At the opening of the Kurdistan-Iraq Oil & Gas Conference held recently in Kurdistans capital city of Erbil, the Kurdistan Regional Governments Prime Minister Dr.Barham Salih stated that they have reached an agreement with the central government to increase the regions oil export volume to 175,000 barrels per day in 2012. It was also announced that Kurdistan is in talks with at least two other major international oil companies after signing a ground-breaking deal with ExxonMobil.

Chris Beevers, Hermes Datacomms business development manager for Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman has been given the responsibility of heading and developing strategic business operations in the newcomer, Kurdistan. He has first -hand experience working with super majors such as ExxonMobil/ Fluor in Iraq. Beevers states, “We look forward to bringing assurances to similar operators in the region, that their communication needs can be understood and the level of service required exceeded and maintained.”
