MBRSC’s long-standing partnership with Japanese partners has enabled notable space exploration, from satellite launches to propelling the UAE’s first mission to the moon.
In a visit by Japanese ambassador Akio Isomata, who was welcomed by MBRSC Director-General Salem Humaid AlMarri, the centre highlighted its collaboration with Japanese partners and expanding partnership.
The visit marked the key milestones achieved together and further strengthened the relationship between MBRSC and Japanese partners.
Some of the significant partnerships include the satellite built by the UAE, KhalifaSat, which was launched on Mitsubishi Heavy Industries rocket from JAXAs Tanegashima Space Centre, Japan; in partnership with JAXA, the KIBO Robot Programming Challenge as part of the Zayed Ambition mission; Emirates Mars Mission Hope Probe was launched into space from JAXAs Tanegashima Space Centre in Japan aboard Mitsubishi Heavy Industriess rocket; Emirates Lunar Mission Rashid rover to be launched to the surface of the Moon onboard ispace, inc. lander
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency JAXA are members of the Sentinel Asia Initiative, an international collaboration among space agencies, disaster management agencies, and international agencies for applying remote sensing and Web-GIS technologies to support disaster management in the Asia-Pacific region
Working together, both sides continue to drive scientific initiatives through missions and sustainable space exploration.
