Yusuf Kazaure was appointed as the Board Chairman in December 2019 by the Federal Government of Nigeria, replacing Chief Dr George Nnadubem Moghalu.
Nigerias state-owned satellite operator NigComSat has officially welcomed onboard its new Board Chairman, Architect Yusuf Kazaure, following recent board-level changes in many industries under the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
Previously, Kazaure was part of the pioneer team that launched Galaxy Backbone, a state-owned ICT solutions company, in 2006 and later rose through the ranks to become the companys CEO/MD in 2014.
Alonside Kazaure, three other executives have been appointed for NigComSat: Dr Najeem Salam, Executive Director, Marketing and Business Development; Prof Abdu Jaafaru Bambale, Executive Director, Technical Services; and Hadi Mohammed, Executive Director, Administration.
The appointees received their official letter of appointment from Nigerias Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, indicating formal assumption of duties in their new role.
The appointments came after concerns were expressed over underutilisation of the companys NigComSat-1R communications satellite and rising year-on-year operational losses.
