Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha has met with the Ambassador of Digital Cooperation in the Republic of France, Henri Verdi, in the presence of the Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Arabia Space Authority, Dr Muhammad Al-Tamimi, King Abdulaziz Citys Designated President for Technical Sciences, Dr Munir Al-Desouki, and a number of officials from both sides in Paris, the Saudi Press Agency reported
Saudi officials in charge of developing the countrys space programme are travelling around Europe seeking partnerships with leading companies in a sign that the Kingdom is putting the programme up on its agenda.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing the bilateral cooperation in the fields of technical and digital transformation, space and innovation. The two parties also discussed stimulating the growth of digital economy and innovation system and ways of accelerating the adoption of modern technologies in the Middle East and North Africa by relying on the digital and logistical platform provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a hub for connecting continents, in addition to the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center, which was recently inaugurated in Riyadh.
The Saudi delegation also visited Britain, to enhance potential cooperation in innovation and space economy between the two countries, and build partnerships in the telecommunications sectors. Around 80 British companies in relevant fields attended the meeting with the Saudi delegation in London, SPA reported.
The Saudi delegation to London also reviewed available investment opportunities, the competitive advantages that the Kingdom enjoys as a digital and logistical platform and a hub for connecting continents, and the possibilities in the field of research, development, innovation and the space economy.
