Under the deal, Telespazio will integrate Starlink into its connectivity network, made up of satellite and terrestrial solutions.
Telespazio, a joint venture between Leonardo (67%) and Thales (33%), has signed an agreement with SpaceX for the commercialisation of Starlink services.
Starlink is a constellation of satellites designed to provide broadband internet services around the world, particularly in rural areas that are poorly served by other networks.
Due to this agreement, Telespazio will be able to integrate Starlink into its global hybrid connectivity network, which is made up of satellite and terrestrial solutions and can guarantee reliable and resilient (fixed and mobile) communications services, with global coverage.
Commenting on the deal, Alessandro Caranci, Vice President of Telespazios Satellite Communications Line of Business, said: “We are very satisfied with the agreement reached with Starlink, which allows Telespazio to further expand its offer portfolio in the satcom field, thus fully responding to the specific needs of the institutional world and of strategic segments of the industrial world, such as energy and maritime.”
