Turkish information technologies firm CTech has begun to deliver Satcom On-The-Move (SOTM) terminals for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as of July.
The terminals promise a secure line of sight communication using Ku-Band or Ka-band anytime and anywhere.
The firm has already delivered 15 terminals as part of the project launched by Turkey’s Defense Industries Presidency (SSB), according to Anadolu Agency.
The terminals aim to provide Turkish UAVs, such as Bayraktar TB2 and Vestel Karayel, with satellite communications.
Designed for critical tactical environments, these terminals can be installed in fast-moving vehicles, aircraft, helicopters and UAVs.
The first delivery was carried out for the ANKA-S, and 15 terminals and two MiniHUBs were provided to Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI).
Further, the deliveries of 40 mobile terminals, a dozen mobile ground stations equipped with MiniHUBs and one HUB system will be completed by the end of 2021.
The broadband solution offered by CTech enables UAVs to transfer data with speed exceeding 20Mbps to the ground control station.
