The new report explores how teleport operators invest in and manage the critical network operations centre (NOC).
The World Teleport Association (WTA) has released a new research report titled Building a Better NOC, which explores best practises for strengthening and improving critical elements of operational and customer support, the Network Operations Centre (NOC).
Executive Director Robert Bell said: “When we think of the NOC, we think of monitor walls, consoles and technology in every corner. Technology is critical, of course, especially as teleport operators move into complex new applications, from multi-orbit connectivity to 5G. So, it was striking to have most executives we interviewed cite their NOC staff and service teams as their greatest strength. Properly automating services is vital and trained and qualified NOC staff remain the glue that holds it all together.”
WTA members can access the report by signing in to their accounts on the WTA website.
