The new venue is a six-screen cinema complex capable of accommodating 829 moviegoers.
Saudi Arabia’s cinema brand, Muvi, has opened a new Muvi Nakheel Plaza in Buraydah as part of the roll-out of the Muvi brand across the country.
Established in 2019 in Riyadh, Muvi Cinemas offers movie-goers an array of viewing options that range from Xperience, ScreenX, Dolby Cinema, and Samsung Onyx theatres.
Following the lifting of the ban on cinema in 2018, Chapman Taylor was signed up by Muvi Cinemas to design and deliver a series of state-of-the-art cinemas.
In addition to the six-screen Muvi Nakheel Plaza at Buraydah that can accommodate 831 moviegoers and is the first cinema to open in the central Saudi province of Al-Qassim.
Ahmed Yousry was the Design Manager for this project, who is also managing the soon-to-complete Muvi Tala Mall project in Riyadh, as well as other projects in the country. Ahmed, who joined Chapman Taylor’s Dubai studio in spring 2020, is a highly experienced site manager who has worked on several technically complex developments across a range of sectors in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The expansion of cinema in Saudi Arabia since the ban on cinemas was lifted in 2018 is continuing at pace, with eleven Chapman Taylor-designed Muvi cinema locations now completed and seven more currently under construction.
