In recent years, the film industry in Saudi Arabia has made remarkable strides, with movies from the Kingdom gaining worldwide recognition at numerous international film festivals.
Saudi Arabia’s cinema sector has witnessed a growth of 28% during Q2 2023, according to a recent report from the Ministry of Commerce.
Saudi Arabia is seeing rapid growth in the cinema, arts and entertainment sectors, according to the report.
In its Business Sector Bulletin for Q2, the ministry noted that the film production sector’s commercial records reached more than 1700, compared to over 1300 commercial records by the end of Q2 of 2022.
As for the cities, Riyadh issued 953 commercial registers, followed by Makkah with 501 and the eastern region with 155.
The report further pointed out that Madinah and Qassim issued 51 and 22 commercial registers, respectively.
