Saudi Construction and Fitout Company, Construction and Planning Co. Ltd has been assigned to build a series of AMC Cinemas across Saudi Arabia and to apply its signature standards they are known for into building premium cinemas, according to a report in Saudi Gazette.
A notable part of that lies in implementing a state-of-the-art experience cinema experience, which combines visuals and acoustics in plush recliner spacious seatings.
With the increase in demand for movie tickets nationwide, cinema operators in the Kingdom are seeking to expand significantly in establishing movie theatres all over the country, in major cities as well as rural ones.
Since the ban was lifted by the General Authority for Audiovisual Media back in 2018, 34 cinemas have opened in 12 cities within six administrative regions in the kingdom.
There has been the addition of 342 screens and more than 35,000 seats, and 11 companies specialised in cinema operation are working across the country, including nine international companies licensed.
Cinemas were reopened as part of the Quality of Life Programme, in accordance with the kingdom’s Vision 2030.
