The event features screenings of over 20 Saudi feature and short films that have previously been showcased at both local and international film festivals.
The Saudi Film Commission has announced the second edition of “Saudi Film Nights,” an international event designed to showcase Saudi cinema across five countries.
Commencing this month in Morocco, the tour will span across Australia, China, India, and conclude in Mexico in January 2025.
This cultural initiative aims to spotlight over 20 Saudi feature and short films that have garnered acclaim at both local and international film festivals. It seeks to foster discussions among filmmakers, movie enthusiasts, academics, critics, and artists alike. The aim is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Saudi cinema on a global scale.
Eng. Abdullah Al-Qahtani, CEO of Saudi Film Commission, underscored the event’s significance in promoting the Kingdom’s cinema culture and its ability to resonate with global audiences. This year, the commission aims to amplify the event’s outreach and influence, bolstering support for local talent while elevating awareness of the Saudi film industry on a global scale.
The inaugural Saudi Film Nights debuted last year across four cities in France, featuring screenings of five Saudi films.
The initiative aims to spotlight the Kingdom’s burgeoning film production landscape, facilitate the international exposure of Saudi filmmakers, and encourage the exchange of expertise and knowledge within the global film community.
