Engineers from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture and Information (MoCI) visited Broadcast Electronics’ plant in Quincy to preview the company’s STX LP transmitter as more than 30 BE STX LP transmitters ranging in power from 1 kW to 5 kW are scheduled for shipment to the Kingdom in Q4, 2010.
Saudi MOCI has been using BE solutions for the last 16 years. The STX LP transmitters that will be shipped shortly feature advanced, single-frequency technology for synchronised, continuous regional coverage.
Speaking about the relationship between the Saudi MOCI and the manufacturer, CEO of BE Joseph W. Roarks said: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been a very valuable customer to us over the years. They have purchased several hundred BE FM transmitters along with associated RF equipment from BE. In fact, this year they will significantly pass the 300 unit mark of radio transmitters in the Kingdom.”
MOCI’s director of Transmitter projects Mizyad Al Omar and project engineer Ayman Al Zahrani, along with BE Saudi representatives Nasr Atwan and Madhukar Sonpal of Thales (formerly STESA) visited the plant in Quincy.
The Saudi visitors were presented with special plaques by the company in recognition of their long-term partnership.
