The partnership will be enhancing the airline’s in-flight entertainment with "Asharq" network productions.
Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has announced a strategic collaboration with Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG) to enrich its in-flight entertainment system, BEYOND. The partnership will bring a curated selection of SRMG’s premium content, including original productions, exclusive documentaries and cultural and entertainment programmes, to Saudia passengers worldwide.
This initiative aligns with Saudia’s commitment to promoting local and Arabic content while elevating the overall travel experience. Passengers will gain access to high-quality Arabic programming from the Asharq News Network, which includes Asharq News, Asharq Discovery—a joint venture between SRMG and Warner Bros. Discovery—and Asharq Documentary.
The selection of engaging and informative content spans various genres, featuring titles such as Basma, Modon Al Shawar’ al Khalfeya, Fann Al Amara, Diet Master, Food Tales, Test Drive Riyadh, Indian Dream and Sam Altman.
Commenting on the partnership, Khaled Tash, Chief Marketing Officer of Saudia Group, said: “The Asharq network’s content represents a significant enhancement to our in-flight entertainment system, which now offers over 5,000 hours of programming carefully curated for diverse guest demographics and available in more than 16 languages. Our primary goal is to champion local and Arabic content, enhancing guests’ overall in-flight experience.”
Bassil Almouallimi, SRMG’s Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer, added: “Our partnership with Saudia reflects SRMG’s commitment to delivering innovative and enriching content to audiences worldwide.
