Ichiro Okouchi serves as the screenwriter, while Kohei Tanaka is the composer behind the music.
Shahid, the Arabic streaming platform by MBC Group, has announced that Grendizer U, a remake of the iconic Grendizer anime series, will be available this July 2024 on its platform.
The launch of Grendizer U on Shahid is a result of the collaboration with Manga Productions, a subsidiary of the Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation “Misk.” Manga Productions has released a third promotional video and a new key visual for the series, generating excitement among fans.
Speaking about the partnership, Dr Essam Bukhary, CEO of Manga Productions, said: “We are pleased to announce the continuation of our partnership with Shahid, confirming that this partnership is an extension of our previous successful collaborations. It is worth mentioning that there have been several previous partnerships between Manga Productions and Shahid in showcasing prominent works such as The Journey movie, the Future’s Folktales and Captain Tsubasa series. It is noteworthy that ‘The Journey’ has made it to the top five anime films on the Shahid platform.”

In 2022, a strategic partnership was formed between Dynamic Planning and Manga Productions to license UFO Robo Grendizer, allowing its use in various products and events globally, except in Japan.
Grendizer U is based on Go Nagai’s UFO Robo Grendizer. The animation team features Hiroyuki Taiga, Takashi Hashimoto, Masahiro Yamane and Toru Yoshida. The series boasts art direction by Hiroshi Kato and Hirofumi Sakagami (Totonyan), colour design by Tomoe Yoshimura and cinematography by Atsushi Usuta (Nexus). Yukio Nagasaki serves as Sound Director, with Sound Effects crafted by Toshiya Wada and Maki Takuma (Swara Pro). The musical score is composed by Kohei Tanaka, with Music Production overseen by PONY CANYON and Animation Production undertaken by GAINA.
