Arabic streaming platform Shahid VIP has announced that the premiere of Rose & Layla, a production by MBC Studios, the premium content production arm of MBC Group, is scheduled for January 11.
Starring Egyptian superstars Yousra and Nelly Karim in their first-ever collaboration, the series is scripted by British screenwriter Cris Cole (Mad Dogs) and directed by acclaimed British film and television director Adrian Shergold (Cordelia).
Produced by Maged Mohsen and Safa Aburizik, Rose & Layla is the first series of its kind by MBC Studios, with international distribution to be managed by Till Entertainment.
The action-packed dark comedy series revolves around two financially challenged and comically inept detectives navigating a major mystery, encountering eccentric characters and crossing unlikely paths. Each episode brings Rose and Layla a step closer to unraveling the truth behind a bank fraud in Cairo, despite being repeatedly sidetracked by seemingly unrelated cases that ultimately tie back to the central mystery.
Consisting of ten 50/60-minute episodes, Rose & Layla is set to premiere on Shahid VIP.
