Sharjah Media City (Shams) has awarded the contract for the design of the Shams Studios project to STUDIOI, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to establish Sharjah as a leading regional and global hub for media production. This initiative aims to enhance the media and film production infrastructure in Sharjah.
The Shams Studios project is a key part of Shams’ vision to support the creative sector by providing a fully integrated media production hub. The development will feature cutting-edge studios designed to meet the evolving needs of film and media production companies while attracting top industry players and professionals.
Shams Studios will house five advanced studios, each spanning 1,710 sqm, covering a total area of 38,136 sqm. These state-of-the-art facilities will cater to a wide range of production needs, including film, television and digital media projects. Additionally, the project will include fully integrated post-production facilities, equipped with editing suites, visual effects technology and sound processing rooms to ensure a seamless and world-class production experience.
The complex will also feature 20 versatile creative units available for both short-term rentals and long-term leases, fostering a vibrant environment for creatives and businesses. Collaborative workspaces, office spaces for production companies and modern meeting rooms will further enhance the ecosystem. To support production teams, the development will include a dedicated hotel building and exclusive suites for actors, complemented by recreational facilities designed to inspire creativity and innovation. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance productivity and encourage collaboration among media professionals.
