Sharjah Media City (Shams) has announced the launch of the Shams Award for Arabic Content, an initiative aimed at fostering a culture of excellence within the media industry. The award has been developed in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The award seeks to encourage creativity, uphold a standard of excellence across all fields, and fulfil Shams’ ambition to continuously motivate media professionals and promote Arabic digital content, while supporting content creators and makers.
Rashid Abdullah Al Obad, Director of Shams, emphasised that the award seeks to recognise outstanding achievement and innovation in Arabic content production. It aims to inspire creators and content makers to present their work in engaging and innovative ways that resonate with contemporary digital trends.
The award highlights the importance of meaningful content and creativity with quality. It includes four categories: Best Short Film, Best Commercial Video, Best Arabic Podcast, and Best Social Media Content Creator. The application deadline for submissions is 10th January 2025.
