The course offers hands-on learning opportunities through workshops led by media specialists.
The Sharjah Media Training Centre, under the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, has kicked off the eighth edition of its “Future Media Professional” programme. Running from July 8 to July 25, the initiative aims to train more than 100 students: 60 at the authority’s headquarters in Sharjah, 25 at Al Sharqiya Channel in Khor Fakkan, and 25 at Al Wusta Channel in Al Dhaid.
Targeting participants aged 10 to 16, the programme offers intensive training in modern media skills, including radio, television presenting, social media management, technical filming and editing, engineering operations and graphic art. Workshops, led by media specialists, provide hands-on learning and run from 10 AM to 1 PM daily.
Shaima Abdullah Abdul Rahim, Director of Sharjah Media Training Centre, highlighted the programme’s success since its inception in 2017, noting its role in helping youth develop media skills, broaden their knowledge, and use their summer breaks productively. She emphasised that the programme not only offers training but also aims to cultivate a new generation of skilled, value-driven media professionals prepared to thrive in today’s media landscape. The initiative seeks to showcase young talent and equip students to contribute effectively to the UAE’s media industry.
