Sportel Monaco has established itself as the premier gathering for sports professionals, providing a unique platform to explore the latest trends in global sports media.
A delegation from Sharjah Sports Channel, part of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, participated in the Sportel Monaco 2024 exhibition held from October 28 to 30 in Monaco. Led by Mohamed Majid Al-Suwaidi and Abdul Rahim Al-Hammadi, the channel’s heads of content, the team held a series of meetings with representatives from participating global companies. The event provided an ideal opportunity for the channel to forge new partnerships, with over 1,500 executives attending the prestigious Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo.
Mohamed Majid Al-Suwaidi emphasised the significance of attending this key event, highlighting its role as the largest gathering of decision-makers in global sports media. He noted that this year’s Sportel exhibition addresses urgent issues in the sports media industry, including the intersection of sports and generative artificial intelligence, through dedicated workshops focusing on content enhancement, fan engagement, and operational efficiency. Al-Suwaidi said that the channel aimed to enhance collaborations with global media and sports institutions and explore cutting-edge technologies and trends to improve coverage of major sporting events.
The 2024 edition of Sportel features notable personalities from the sports world, including La Liga President Javier Tebas, who will discuss the ongoing battle against digital piracy, and Gerard Piqué, founder of Cosmos Kings and former football star.
