The latest installment continues the adventure of teenage Billy Batson who transforms into his adult super hero alter ego, Shazam.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods, an American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Shazam, will be released in cinemas across the region one day earlier on March 15 – in celebration of ‘Shazam Day’.
The release of Shazam! Fury of the Kings will be celebrated with fan screenings, in partnership with TikTok, which will see the film screened simultaneously at select Vox Cinemas in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on Tuesday, March 14. For a chance to attend one of the fan screenings across the region, fans can post their content to TikTok tagging #ShazamMovie, or visit the hashtag #ShazamMovie on the platform.
From New Line Cinema comes Shazam! Fury of the Kings, which continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word SHAZAM!, is transformed into his adult superhero alter ego, Shazam.
Bestowed with the powers of the Kings, Billy Batson and his fellow foster kids are still learning how to juggle teenage life with having adult superhero alter-egos. But when the Daughters of Atlas, a vengeful trio of ancient Kings, arrive on Earth in search of the magic stolen from them long ago, Billy—aka Shazam—and his family are thrust into a battle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of their world.
The film stars returning cast members Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Adam Brody as superhero Freddy, Ross Butler as superhero Eugene, Meagan Good as superhero Darla, D.J. Cotrona as superhero Pedro, Grace Caroline Currey as Mary Bromfield / superhero Mary, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Marta Milans as Rosa Vasquez, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vasquez, with Djimon Hounsou as Wizard.
Joining the cast are Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu and Helen Mirren.
The film is directed by David F. Sandberg and produced by Peter Safran. It is written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, based on characters from DC; Shazam! was created by Bill Parker and CC Beck.
