MAD Solutions is handling worldwide distribution of 'Killing Bagheera'.
Kurdish director Muschirf Shekh Zeyn’s short film Killing Bagheera won three more awards during its festival tour, bringing the total number of its international awards to 10 — Best Short Film at the Türk Fi̇lm Festi̇vali̇ Frankfurt, and the Golden Prize and Young Director Award at the Wendland Shorts Kurzfilmfestival.
Previously, the film won Best Short Film at the Biberacher Filmfestspiele, Best Short Film on Refugees at the International Inter-University Short Film Festival, three awards for short films at the Filmfestival Turkey/Germany, the Social Influence Award at the Watersprite Film Festival, and the Window to Bavaria Award at the Regensburg Short Film Week.
It also screened at several prestigious film festivals, including the Palm Springs International ShortFest, Durban International Film Festival, Toronto Arab Film Festival, Rabat International Author Film Festival, Cyprus International Short Film Festival, Odense International Film Festival, and Biberacher Filmfestspiele.
The story of Killing Bagheera follows Alan and Bekes as they attempt to enter Europe as refugees, but the journey is fraught with challenges and dangers that will test their friendship.
Directed and edited by Zeyn, the film is written by Anita Hauch and Sharyhan Osman and stars Dara Lalo and Sipan Hasan. MAD Solutions is handling worldwide distribution.
Muschirf Shekh Zeyn was born in 1988 in a Kurdish family and grew up in Kamishli in Syria, taking an interest in literature, painting, and woodwork since he was a child and writing short stories at a very early age.
