Sky News Arabia, the 24-hour Arabic language multi-platform breaking news service, has launched a weekly video blog on its website called Diary of a Start up highlighting the weekly progress made by the channel in its preparations for the launch date in Spring 2012.
In-line with the channels philosophy of transparency and innovative use of online social networks, the weekly video blog is aimed at giving viewers a backstage perspective of the work that goes into building a world-class news channel from the ground up.
We want to inspire young journalists and media professionals, said Scott Hicks, Commercial/Marketing Director. As an Arabic channel for Arabic people, Sky News Arabia, has already created a relationship with its audience through its sleekly designed website and is looking to strengthen this platform with the addition of the new video blog.
Sky News Arabia will deliver news as it happens, and until the channel officially launches, we want to show our viewers the real effort we are putting into the preparations for the big date. We want share our learning and celebrate our milestones with our audience, added Hicks.
Sky News Arabia will be a free-to-air 24-hour Arabic rolling news channel that will report the news as it happens to over 50 million homes across the MENA region.
