Underlining the MENA region as a growing market for creative content, Sony will show its latest cinematography cameras at IBC Content Everywhere MENA, in Dubai on 20-22 January 2015. Sony is taking a dynamic role in this new venture as part of its commitment to working with broadcasters and content creators across the Middle East and Africa.
One of the most exciting trends in recent years has been the emergence of the MENA region as a world-class creator of content in drama, documentaries and sport. The centrepiece of the Sony stand will be the new PXW-FS7 digital cinematography camera. With its built-in super slow motion capabilities and 4K sensors, it is a versatile professional camera ideally suited to top end productions.
We are keen to make our participation in the first IBC Content Everywhere MENA a platform to showcase our products, not just in digital cinematography but in other key areas like newsgathering, said Vivan Saldanha, Head of Content Creation for Sony in the Middle East and Africa.
This event in the Middle East is a great opportunity for us to show our commitment to the market.
Saldanha also acknowledged that the TV everywhere movement was bringing big changes to the marketplace. It is driving innovation in the broadcast industry and beyond. Sony is working with customers across the region to develop standards and help them maximise their opportunities.
Exhibitors at IBC Content Everywhere MENA in Dubai range from creative broadcast suppliers like Quantel to IT giants like Cisco; content distribution networks like Akamai to telecom service providers like Etisalat. Conference speakers include senior executives from broadcasters like Discovery Networks, beIN SPORTS and Sky News Arabia; and vendors and service providers like Microsoft, Ericsson and YouTube.
