SIIMA honoured South India's best singers, lyricists, actors, and music and film directors at an event in Abu Dhabi.
The sixth annual edition of the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA), which was hosted in Abu Dhabi this year with the support of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, brought together super stars and cinema lovers from the Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries to celebrate the industrys best singers, lyricists, actors, debutants, and music and film directors. The two-day event was held on June 30 and July 1 under the theme Celebrating the Unity and Oneness of the South Indian Film Industries.
The Telegu and Kannada award winners were chosen from 120 nominations across 24 categories. A lifetime achievement award was presented to S. P. Balasubrahmanyam for his numerous roles within the industry as playback singer, actor, music director, voice actor as well as film producer.
Previous editions of SIIMA have been held in Dubai, Sharjah, Malaysia and Singapore.
