One million new subscribers were recorded in the first six months of 2021, and numbers are reportedly increasing on a daily basis.
MENA kids’ channel Spacetoon has announced reaching 6m subscribers and over 2bn views on its YouTube channel and claims to be the first Arabic animation TV channel to hit this number on YouTube.
The Spacetoon YouTube channel has recorded 1m subscribers, 4.5bn impressions, over 400m views, and 26.8m hours of watching only in the first two quarters of this year, and numbers are increasing daily.
The company revealed that part of this increase came as a result of its new original animation The Moshaya Family Animation which has contributed to boosting the overall views on the YouTube channel since the show started premiering earlier in January.
Spacetoon’s YouTube channel presents various types of content that fit audiences from different age groups and interests. From anime shows to original productions, passing through songs, and specially produced content to celebrate certain events, the content blends between fun and learn.
Commenting on this strong growth, Kamel Weiss, Strategic Business Development Director of Spacetoon, said: “We are very pleased with these impressive results as they show the effectiveness of our digital transformation strategy. We’re aware that today’s children and young adults are growing up in a digital world, so our goal has always been looking for delivering top and safe content through any digital platform”.
He added: “We have plans for expanding the content on YouTube bringing new seasons of the top-rated shows dubbed into Arabic, in addition to presenting new content from Spacetoon’s original productions. We’re open to all types of partnership which ultimately brings memorable experience to our audience.”
Three different loops of songs have received over 35m views so far. Additionally, Spacetoon has revealed that one of its recent original video songs spreading awareness of the virus Corona surpassed over 11m views, having a place among the top-watched videos in the channel.
During the first six months of this year, Spacetoon’s YouTube channel has successfully worked with a range of NGOs and international organisations who take the advantage of the digital world to reach the target audience widely, deliver their message properly, and help with adopting new behaviours.
Lately, a series of short films, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, raising awareness of child cancer, has reached over 200K views in a short time on the Spacetoon YouTube channel.
The high performance of the Spacetoon YouTube channel has attracted brands which aim to reach a wider audience.
Following this success, Spacetoon has announced officially it has plans to expand in the digital world by launching new YouTube channels and enriching the content on Spacetoon’s YouTube channel through new types of content and collaboration.
