Spacetoon Mum, a new initiative by Spacetoon aimed at mothers, has celebrated the success of its first original live production, One Thousand and One Recipes (ألف طبخة وطبخة). Launched 16 weeks ago on Spacetoon and Spacetoon Mum channels, the show has already garnered over 65m impressions, making it the most-watched show in Spacetoon TV’s morning segment.
Produced by Spacetoon Mum, the show features Saudi chef Sama Jad, the first winner of Top Chef Arabia, and social media star Talya Ali. The 30-minute episodes blend culinary expertise with storytelling, as Sama and Talya introduce new recipes while exploring their history and cultural significance.
The 12-episode programme has amassed over 45m views, securing its position as the most-watched show in Spacetoon’s morning lineup. The show’s touching portrayal of a mother-daughter relationship has resonated deeply with viewers, resulting in over 40,000 hours watched online.
Omar Weiss, General Manager of Spacetoon Mum, said: “We envisioned this show as more than just a cooking program. We wanted to create an engaging experience for both mothers and daughters.
“While we initially aimed for 30-35m impressions, the programme has far exceeded our expectations, reaching over 65m impressions. We have decided to move the show’s second season up to this year, instead of waiting for its original release next Ramadan to capitalise on this tremendous audience enthusiasm.”
With season two now on the horizon, Spacetoon Mum has already begun collaborating with multiple scriptwriters and local talents.
This announcement coincides with the launch of Spacetoon Mum’s app, designed to be a one-stop hub for mothers on their motherhood journey.
