Spotify has launched its service in thirteen new markets in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), taking the music streaming service’s global footprint to 78 markets in total. Spotify is launching in MENA with a fully Arabic user experience, offering music fans local and international music and locally-curated playlists, such as Todays Top Arabic Hits, Oriental Chill Vibes, and Arabic EDM. Users in MENA can enjoy Spotify for free with advertising or can subscribe to Spotify Premium for a monthly fee.
Spotify will charge per month for its premium service 19.99 riyals ($5.33) in Saudi Arabia, 19.99 AED ($5.44) in the UAE, 49.99 Egyptian pounds ($2.8) in Egypt, and $4.99 elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa. Its free service is also now available in the region.
Spotify also launched the Arab Hub, as part of its Global Cultures initiative, following the recent launches of the Latin hub and Afro hub. The Arab hub is a home for Arabic music on Spotify, for fans of that music wherever they may be in the world.
The new markets are the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian Territories and Egypt.
