SVOD platform StarzPlay has announced a new content line-up for August, ranging from new debuts, complete series box sets, binge-worthy shows and movies.
StarzPlay is set to stream the third season of The Handmaid’s Tale on August 16. The series is based on the 1985 novel of the same name by Canadian author Margaret Atwood and follows a religion-based autocracy that has taken over most of the United States, renaming the country Gilead. In this country, women are second-class citizens and anyone trying to escape is punished.
Among the new series, StarzPlay will offer viewers Seasons one to four of Japanese manga series Haikyu. It is written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. The story follows Shōyō Hinata, a boy determined to become a great volleyball player despite his small stature.
StarzPlay will also stream season one of Citizen Rose documentary from August 8. It follows artist and activist Rose McGowan who has helped ignite a cultural revolution by bravely addressing sexual abuse and harassment in Hollywood while defying those who would silence her.
Also available to watch is the season one of The Killer Affair from August 8. The show dives deep inside the hearts and minds of scorned lovers whose overpowering desire leads them down a path of murder. Each episode follows a new investigation and takes viewers behind the true stories of murder ignited by infidelity and deception.
Other series include 30 Rock, season 1-7, Disney’s Moana, Keeping up with the Kardashians, season 17, and Avengers-Infinity War.
