During Eid, the platform will stream a line-up of TV shows and movies, including 'Les Baghdad', 'Welad Rizk 1 and 2', as well as Adel Imam's classics.
On April 21, StarzPlay will premiere the Egyptian comedy Hashtag Gawezni and its original drama Wala Ghalta.
Directed by Said Al Marook, the movie follows the life of a famous fashion designer, Yousef, who tries a new psychological treatment to cure his fear of commitment.
Yousef’s fear of commitment leads him into a string of passionate entanglements with various women and causes him to run at the first sign of any problems. Until he falls in love with his psychiatrist Nada, who changes his view of beauty and the way he thinks.
Playing the role of Yousef is the singer and actor Ziad Bourji, while the Lebanese actress Jessy Abdo plays the role of Dr Nada. The star-studded cast also includes Fouad Yammine, and social media influencer Yara Bou Monsef.
Hashtag Gawezni, directed by Essam Nassar, follows the story of “Yousef”, a famous DJ who has his own business, “Marriage Express”, which is a social media page that brings together people seeking marriage. The romantic complications start when Yousef realises he is unable to confess his love to Lilly because he is afraid of commitment, but at the same time, he had once vowed to marry the first girl he confesses love to. The film comes exclusively to StarzPlay straight from the cinema.
For the first time in lead roles, Mayan El Sayyed plays Lilly and Amir El Masry plays Yousef. The cast also includes Bayoumi Fouad, Dina and Sabreen.
