Well-known Syrian director, Momen Al Mulla who has worked on Bab Al Hara 5 was in Abu Dhabi with his production team to introduce the forthcoming series.
The drama is set in Damascus in the 1950s and chronicles traditional family life revolving around Syrian Hammam where much of the action takes place. The comic series features celebrity cast of renowned Syrian actors and is expected to be a big draw in the Arab world.
Filmed entirely in the two twofour54 studios spanning across 500 sqm, the series is the first large-scale Syrian drama to be shot in Abu Dhabi.
Noura Al Kaabi, CEO of twofour54 said: The studios have been designed to recreate the look and feel of 1950s Damascus. The production of this major Syrian drama at twofour54, reinforced Abu Dhabis reputation as a world-class production hub generating original Arabic broadcasting content. The production is a result of a partnership with Al Adham and Al Mohra. We are proud of this association and believe that this will encourage more such initiatives.
She added, In addition to the infrastructure that Abu Dhabi as a city provides to content creators in the region, the incentive scheme introduced by Abu Dhabi Film Commission that gives a 30% cash rebate on qualifying spend in Abu Dhabi is proving to be a an attractive proposition for filmmakers and TV production houses, both regional and international.
