This latest project for Workpoint TV includes the upgrade of AirBox Neo licenses to PlayBox’s latest-generation Neo-20 software.
PlayBox Neo has announced the completion of an AirBox Neo-20-based system expansion for Thai Broadcasting’s Workpoint TV service. Operating from studio headquarters in Pathum Thani just north of the Thai capital, Workpoint TV was founded in 1989, initially focusing on game shows such as Golden Stage and soon expanding into a wider range of content. The network’s productions include Asian Television Award-winning programmes Jarachon, Fan Pan Tae, Todsagun Kid, Lharn Phoo Koo E-Joo and Wittaya Subphayuth. Two of its productions have also received nominations for International Emmy Awards.
Commenting on the development, Saran Chaichanachortsagul, Workpoint TV Broadcast Engineering Supervisor, said: “We have used PlayBox Neo equipment for many years. This latest project includes the upgrade of AirBox Neo licenses to the latest-generation Neo-20 software. That provides extra features including the ability to process and transmit incoming content while still being ingested.”
Nut Deesamer, PlayBox Neo Branch Director, Thailand, added: “Delivery, integration and Workpoint TV staff training were completed in partnership with O’Connor’s (Thailand) Company Limited which specialises in technology solutions such as satellite communications and broadcast media. O’Connor’s is itself based in Pathum Thani so ideally positioned to provide fast first-line support. The system we have supplied includes upgrades to four AirBox Neo-20 channel-in-a-box servers, two ProductionAirBox Neo-20 live-production servers and PlayBox Neo’s recently introduced Capture Suite. One of the AirBox Neo-20 servers has been assigned to an archiving role. The new Capture Suite makes ingest easier as the whole process can be managed via the browser.”
