The films were produced under the Ministry of Media’s Saudi Konoz initiative, which highlights the nation’s hidden treasures, significant events and cultural heritage.
The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Media’s Konoz initiative has secured five platinum Viddy Awards and six Vega Digital Awards for its films Ra’ee Al-Ajrab, Horizon and Station 7, according to a report by Saudi Press Agency.
Ra’ee Al-Ajrab received the Viddy Award for cinematography, while Horizon was honoured in the integrated marketing plan category. Station 7 won two awards in both cinematography and documentary, and the Konoz brand film was acknowledged in the self-promotion category.
At the Vega Awards, Ra’ee Al-Ajrab won in the directing, cinematography and short films categories. Station 7 was celebrated for marketing and long documentary, and the Konoz brand film once again received the self-promotion award.
Horizon, produced in partnership with the National Center for Wildlife, highlights Saudi Arabia’s natural beauty, featuring more than 10,000 species, each adapting to their environment. Station 7 documents the achievements of Saudi Vision 2030 in its seventh year, showcasing the Kingdom’s progress across various levels in 2023.
Launched in 1995, the Viddy Awards are managed by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), encompassing thousands of professionals in marketing, communication, advertising, and public relations. The Vega Awards, overseen by the International Awards Associate (IAA), honour outstanding work in digital media marketing by professionals and organisations.
Konoz, part of the Human Capability Development Programme under Vision 2030, aims to visually document the Kingdom’s treasures and contribute to advancements in artistic production. The initiative has produced several documentaries, including Chapter 295, What Saudis Eat, Saudi Atlas, A Difficult Stage and Ala Hadden Sawa.
